Ñanduti lace is a handmade lace made in Paraguay which means spiderweb. I was inspired by the lace and illustrated a pattern that I designed for my collection. I took 6 months and went to study in Paraguay how they made the lace by hand in my college years.
It is the tenerife lace that was brought by the Spaniards to Paraguay and was adapted to by the guarani with representations of nature. Stars, guayaba flower, jasmine flower, ear of rice, corn flower, etc. If you would like to learn more about the lace there is a wonderful book by Annick Sanjurjo called the Lace of Paraguay.
This is the midi dress which is long sleeve and has pockets! It is the perfect fit and flare dress that flatters the figure. I have worn this dress around the city and get compliments all the time.
